About the Practice

I provide clinical services to help adults and their families. These outpatient services include evaluation and diagnosis, individual and couples psychotherapy, medication assessment and management, referrals for psychological testing and laboratory blood work.

An initial session for evaluation may last 1 ½ to 2 hours. During this time, I will review the difficulties you are experiencing, what goals you have, any medical records you may bring and I will speak to a family member if you wish. I do my best to complete the evaluation in one session, but sometimes we need a second session so that I can do the best job possible for you. At the end of the evaluation, we will begin to develop a comprehensive treatment plan together. With your permission, I will communicate with the other physicians and therapists treating you as necessary to coordinate your care.

Any further recommended sessions will last 45 minutes, regardless of whether you are seeing me for psychotherapy or only medication management. Treatment will be based on your clinical needs and personal goals, according to preferred practice guidelines that have been demonstrated to be most effective in overcoming the challenges you are experiencing.

Fees and Insurance

I believe that providing comprehensive care to my patients requires a highly personalized approach. For this reason, I do not follow treatment guidelines outlined by insurance companies. It is my belief that this can jeopardize the quality of care that my patients deserve. Your working relationship is with me and not an insurance company. I do not contract with any commercial health insurance networks such as Oxford, Blue Cross/Blue Shield or GHI. I am a Medicare provider. An explanation of my fees can be discussed by contacting my office.

Payments for services provided are due at the time of your appointment. I accept checks, credit cards or cash, whatever is most convenient for you. I give my patients a receipt for your taxes or for reimbursement from your insurance company at the end of every appointment.

Services are by appointment only and your appointment time is specifically reserved for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to attend a scheduled appointment or cancellation with less than 24 hours notice may result in your being billed for the full appointment fee.
